How long does it take for my taxes to be received and finalized and for my refund to go through? Thanks in advance.

After you file

If your tax return has forms that are not final yet, you will not be able to file the return until they are final. I’ve provided links to both IRS and State form availability tables below.

Once you are logged into your return, you should be able to click on Review to the left, and it will show you a list of forms in your return that aren’t available yet. It should also show date they should become available.

Keep in mind, the IRS will not start accepting e-filed returns until January 29, 2018. Once they start accepting them, you have to wait until it's processed and there could possibly be a backlog at that time. But TurboTax has no way to know how long it will take for your return to process once the IRS gets it. Once processed, it typically takes about 21 days for the IRS to issue a refund. More details can be found here When will I get my IRS tax refund?

NOTE: Any returns that include Earned Income Credit and/or Additional Child Tax Credit will also be held until around mid-February. And refunds from those returns will start releasing in late February.
