After you file
If you previously saved a 2015 PDF last year, then download a new 2015 return PDF from your 2015 Tax Timeline and see if it contains the summary sheets. If it doesn't, then there is not a way to get the 2015 summary sheets other than downloading the *.tax2015 tax data file and opening it in installed 2015 software. You'd have to see if you could convince Customer Support to provide you the 2015 software for this purpose.
Here's how to get the summary sheets for the 2016 return:
- Log into your account and go the 2016 Tax Timeline.
- Scroll to the section "some things you can do".
- If the regular PDF doesn't have what you need, there should also be a link for "download all forms and worksheets". Does that second larger PDF have the summary sheets?
If not, try this alternate method which is to open the 2016 return and download/print from the PRINT CENTER:
- In the 2016 Tax Timeline, go to Some things you can do.
- Choose Add a State. (you don't really add one; that's just to get the return to open up.)
- Once the return is open, then click on MY ACCOUNT up at the top.
- Then choose PRINT CENTER.
- Choose to "print/save/view this year's return." You may have a choice for
a PDF "as filed with government" and one with "all forms for government and worksheets" and one for "all forms." You should be able to find the summary sheets in one of those PDFs, likely one of the latter two.
NOTE: Remember all downloaded PDF tax documents and data files are very sensitive files, since they contain your personal ID info, financial data, and possibly bank account numbers, etc. Be sure to store them safely and securely to guard against computer theft, hacking, etc.
