@alimachuca The more I think about this the more I think you should probably just do as the IRS suggested which is to send in a copy of the 1040 as it was first prepared. Sending the revised 1040 as it was revised for the amended return and advising the IRS to destroy the 1040X may just confuse the IRS. To prepare a copy of the first 1040 prepared, you can either try to undo the amended return and change it back to the first 1040 or you can clear and start over and prepare the first 1040 from scratch.
