It was for 2016. I sent it in early and they received it on 2/13/2017. Yes amended tax returns can be filed online. The 740x form is for state. The 1040x was federal. It's for the state of Kentucky. I called the IRS. He stated that somehow the amended tax filedmwasmoverlooked. Said that happens occasionally. Said since it's past th 16 weeks,I would need to refill the amended taxes. I told him it was filed online. He said that's fine. I mailed the forms to their separate places required.
