If you owe back taxes to the IRS, they will automatically apply your refund to the back taxes owed. They will send you a Notice of Offset and details about the tax debt and tax year it was applied.
For TurboTax purposes, you will have to either enter deposit information or select receive a check, but the IRS will automatically apply it to the back taxes.
