I've already filed, and it's in process, but I just saw this year the personal exemption elimination and max tax deduction of $5K for Married filing separately make me better off taking the standard deduction for the first time in 20 years. Can I amend my return, once it's processed and take the standard deduction as long as my husband also agrees to that on his return?
