After you file
You will send along with Form 8885 the following:
- Fill out Form 8453 (make sure you check the box for Form 8885)
- Supporting documentation for Form 8885
- An official letter reflecting that you were an eligible individual for the months claimed on line 2 in 2017
- A copy of your health insurance bills or COBRA payment coupons for each month you are claiming the credit on line 2
- Proof of payment for each month you are claiming the credit on line 2
After you received acknowledgment that the IRS has accepted your e-filed return, mail the above mentioned documents to the following address within 3 business days:
