Unentered numbers shown on my tax return

Hi everyone,

I have used TurboTax for the past 10 years without any issues, and this is my first time here to ask for help/advice. I would like to see if anyone has similar experience like mine - the number never entered shown on you tax return? If anyone has similar experience, how do you get help from TurboTax? Thanks ahead.

The details as follows:

I received CP23 from IRS after I filed my tax, which states my total payments and credits should be $7,000 less than what I reported on 1040. After I looked into 1040 & all the forms, I found out that $7,000 is from line 10 on Schedule 3 - "Amount paid with request for extension to file." However, I don't recall I've ever entered $7,000 while doing my tax earlier.

First I filed Accurate Guarantee Claim to TurboTax, and the reply mentions:

-You e-filed an application for an extension to file your 2021 return, Form 4868, on March 23, 2022. The form as filed showed no balance due. There is no information in the e-file record regarding a payment with the extension.
-The data source of the $7,000 payment to be made with an extension is the extension form, indicating that the information on the Form 4868 was changed before it was e-filed.

After I looked into all the pages of Turbotax, it took me 20 minutes before finally locating the page to enter the amount paid with extension. That's because 2021 is my first year to file extension. It is under the section of "Income taxes paid." As the screenshot shows, I'd never visited this section because the tab shows "Start", rather than "Revisit." The same thing applies to  "Payments with 2021 federal extension."

After clicking into "Payments with 2021 federal extension," now I found the culprit - $7,000.

Since I've never visited any of those sections or entered any numbers on it, how did this $7,000 end up showing on my tax return? I am wondering if there is any technical issue with the software this year? Or it got hacked?

I've done my tax with TurboTax for the past 10 years, and it always gives me the peace of mind. However, the experience this year definitely undermines my trust in this brand unless the company can provide a reasonable explanation. Thanks again for reading my long tax story. Any thoughts are appreciated!
