You can claim the credit on your amended return.
- Open your return.
- Click on Federal tab under Tax Home.
- Click on the Edit/Add button next to Advance payments, Child and Other Dependent Tax Credits (under Your tax breaks).
- Answer the interview questions.
- Answer No to the question Did you receive any advance Child Tax Credit payments from the IRS in 2021? and continue answering the interview question.
