Q. Can I do a preliminary 2022 tax return through turbo tax (TT)?
A. No, not with TurboTax Online.
If you use the download/CD versions of TT, you can make a copy of your return and give it a new name (I call mine "preliminary 2022"). Then you can manipulate it for your 2022 numbers to get an idea of 2022 results. As others have indicated, the results will be based on 2021 rules. Due to all the covid based changes, you could be affected enough that the results could be distorted. It's possible to override some of those numbers.
