I am in almost the same position. Tried filing a couple weeks ago and they were getting rejected for AGI. No answers to 4 messages so far and no answer when I call. Came to the community thing we are supposed to get answers from (which is crazy because I've seen the "expert" give false information) and someone said to put in 0. Did that. Still rejected and no emails back. Had to file an extension which was easy but have been working at these for a couple of weeks. They said try 1 to someone else in one of these chats. Tried it and failed. There was answer to a question that I answered correctly and I read last resort we can lie and put no because it's just the companies software that isnt letting the return go through and the IRS won't care about that part....which to me sounds insane for a professional to say something like that! I looked in ny return and there wasnt even an option like they said. I had to report my bank account interest and jury duty pay so they want to charge me a couple hundred dollars for those two things. I was told I should be able to get this for free due to being low income and just doing a simple tax return and not itemized but according to turbotax, mine isnt considered simple enough because of the jury duty for a lousy 21 dollars and 24 dollar interest from the bank. No answers from anybody and no matter what I do it keeps coming back rejected. And then of course I get the nice little message saying "Dont worry! We will help you fix this!" Where is my help? I am doing this online and ended up with the deluxe version (I think...its all hard to keep track of). I chose to pay them out of my refund, thinking maybe the charge would change because in the directions I followed to fill out my forms, it says the final price can be different from what we see now, so I thought they would see I am supposed to be able to get free file. I havent paid anything up front but did fill out the paperwork to send my return and they can take from the refund, and now I'm going to have to go elsewhere and dont want them taking a few hundred for me for their lies. I believe they are being sued right now and having to pay a settlement to people they made pay when they were supposed to get free file. I am not happy at all. Have you received any information?
