It depends. US citizens and residents can choose to file with a nonresident spouse. Nonresident aliens cannot file jointly. IRS will tax both your incomes. See Nonresident Spouse
In order to file together, your nonresident spouse will need a Social Security Number (SSN) or an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN).
