I attempted three times last week to complete my taxes. I was allowed to enter all my information, but it would not allow me to submit my taxes. Everything was filled out correctly, but it wouldn't allow me to send. It required me to upgrade to deluxe, then it charged for the upgrade as well as, $49.00 for each state tax return. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the free version return, it actually looks exactly the same as in the deluxe version. I think, they just want consumers to spend the extra on the deluxe version. If you try the deluxe, then attempt to return to the free version, it will remove all the information you previously entered. Sorry
