Form 6251 Alternative Minimum Tax is supported by TurboTax Online Deluxe and higher versions.
If you are not subject to the Alternative Minimum Tax, then Form 6251 will not be included with your return and you will not be able to add it using TurboTax Online.
Use the following steps to go to the section of your return for the Alternative Minimum Tax:
- On the top row of the TurboTax online screen, click on Search (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax locate the search box in the upper right corner)
- This opens a box where you can type in “amt” (be sure to enter exactly as shown here) and click the magnifying glass (or for CD/downloaded TurboTax, click Find)
- The search results will give you an option to “Jump to amt”
- Click on the blue “Jump to amt” link
