Get your taxes done using TurboTax
Understand I'm just "stabbing in the dark" with a butter knife here. I've never heard of your issue before. As for AnswerXchange, the spam filters are kinda tight on the forum because the trolls are there 24/7 just waiting for some knowing newbie to post things like their e-mail address or phone number. Then they'll email or call you claiming to be a TurboTax employee wanting to help, asking you for personally identifiable information as well as things like "confirming your credit card number and billing information" which the unknowing newbie provides.
So the spam filters are set up to reject email addresses, phone numbers, and of course social security numbers and EINs. They also reject URL's. Additionally, I don't know what they're looking for, but if the filters suspect a post is advertising, that gets rejected too. They reject a number of other things too, which I can't recall at the moment. Baiscally, you provide *NO* personally identifiable information, and you're usually fine. But on the other side of that coin, the filters have been known to "go ballistic" now and again and start rejecting posts for no good reason. When it happens to me (and it does on occasion) I just clear my browser cache, restart my browser and log back in. So far, that seems to work for me.
As for e-mail addresses, as you can see in your post to me, the filters removed the e-mail address you entered. Now I haven't seen the registration box in awhile. So is it specifically asking for an e-mail address? I wonder if the filters are affecting that form too. But then if it was, I'd be seeing a whole slew of posts on the registration issue, and I'm not. So far in both forums, your post is it. So that's why I tend to think it's something on your end at this point.
Just for the purpose of testing, first turn off all firewalls you have control of and give that a try. If that doesn't make any difference, then turn of what is called "real time protecton" in your antivirus program and see if that helps. Now after doing this stuff, don't forget to turn your firewalls and protection back on. With some, after changing the status of the firewall or antivirus, it may be necessary to restart the computer for your changes to "take" across all paths between your computer and your Internet modem.
Finally, on the subject of someone from TurboTax contacting you, in the AnswerXchange forum a TurboTax employee will have their name preceeeded by the word "TurboTax". For example, TurboTaxGabi. Then their relationship with Intuit will be in a colored tag (usually red) after their name. That tag could be the word Moderator, Employee, Product Quality, or any number of things. But the point is, the tag will not be black. It will be a color. I most commonly see red. But I've also seen other colors on occasion depending on the status and function of the TurboTax employee posting. Now I'm telling you this for a reason.
If you can post your issue short, sweet and to the point in the AnswerXchange forum and I see it (I probably will) then I will be able to alert TurboTax to your issue and hopefully get someone involved that can help. Sometimes the employee will post back to you to "check your email". The email they send you will be sent to the e-mail address that you registered with TurboTax in your AnswerXchange account settings. Normal users like me can not see or access that e-mail address. Only certain TurboTax Employees can see it. Once you've seen the name of the poster and confirm it starts with "TurboTax" and has a colored tag after it, then you will know the email you're checking for is from a "real" valid TurboTax employee. Additionally, the email you receive from that employee will be from the intuit.com domain. Usually, though not always it will be from the social_we_care@intuit.com email address.
