This is one of my biggest problems with turbo tax. If a consumer chooses to override for a variety of reasons as stated, we should still be able to efile since we paid for that, but Turbotax should be able to tag that we overrid an item. I too have overrid some self-employment lines as i am not self-employed. I don't need to do that anymore with some changes in forms 1099 etc.
However there is a fee I wish to override I do not feel is legitimate and turbotax does not reduce that from my taxes if I override it. The solution is probable move on to other software. I do really like the ease of turbotax but this is frustrating. Plus we owe too much money every year so maybe time to find an accountant that is more crafty than myself.
