The "Federal Taxes" Tab is at the top of your screen after you open your Tax Return.
Follow these steps to file an extension in TurboTax Desktop:
- Open your return
- Click the "Federal Taxes" Tab
- Click the "Other Tax Situations" Tab
- Scroll down and click "Start" next to "File an Extension"
- From here, TurboTax will walk you through the process of Extending your return
