There was an answer in another thread I started, as follows:
To correct this so you can e-file your return, you need to uncheck the I'm self-employed and bought a Marketplace plan box for each 1095-A you entered.
To get to this box in TurboTax Home & Business you can follow these steps:
- Within your return use the magnifying glass icon to search 1095a and click the Jump to link that appears in the results
- Click Continue through the question and Edit for the first 1095-A shown on the next screen
- Click Continue through the amount entry
- Uncheck the I'm self-employed and bought a Marketplace plan box and click Continue
- Do the same for the other 1095-A
- You can then go straight to the Smart Check by clicking it on the sub-menu at the top of the screen
These aren't the best instructions, but the key is unchecking that "I'm self-employed" box.
