For tax year 2020, I filed my own tax, and my parents did NOT claim me as a dependent.
I received the 3rd stimulus check ($1,400) in 2021. (This is the only stimulus check I ever received.)
My parents are doing their 2021 tax return, and they are NOT eligible for stimulus checks due to high AGI. (BTW, I turned 24 years old in 2021.) If they claim me as a dependent *and* I also file my own tax return (and indicate someone else can claim as a dependent), would government ask for $1,400 back? Or will I be allowed to keep it?
