I started trying to fix the problem in February. I downloaded every upgrade that TT sent me, but nothing worked. I spent a long time on the phone with Schwab's IT people and they couldn't figure out the problem. Eventually, they gave me TT's support phone number. I was on the phone for at least 30 minutes, someone tried to figure out the problem, then put me on "hold" while he checked with his superiors but eventually the call was disconnected.
I was left with no choice but to download my tax forms directly from Schwab and manually enter them. Getting this info put directly into my return instead of doing it manually was the only reason that I paid for the TT Deluxe software. There was nothing else that was at all problematic for me. Now, with just 3 days left before the IRS deadline, you are telling people to repeat the games I played in February. This is inexcusable. If TT is at all interested in having Schwab account holders purchase software in the future, it should send each of us a certificate giving us the 2022 programs for free. That way, if it does not work next year, we will not again waste our money buying it and be comfortable, in the following years, to pay for it ourselves.
