You may need this form in three situations:
- Early distributions from a tax-favored account
- Excess contributions to a tax-favored account
- Failing to take required minimum distributions
If that does not apply to you and the form is empty, delete the form:
- Open or continue your return in TurboTax.
- In the left menu, select Tax Tools and then Tools.
- In the pop-up window Tool Center, choose Delete a form.
- Select Delete next to the form/schedule/worksheet in the list and follow the instructions.
