This is an on going problem, I ran into this issue last year and could never resolve it. I know I was using the correct AGI, but could never electronically file my return kept getting an error. I ran out of time last year so I ended up mailing in my return. I do not want to mail it since I getting a large refund this year and the IRS is taking forever to process and mail refunds.
Here I am again this year and getting the same error, This time I went to the IRS website looked up the 2020 AGI and it is the same number turbotax is automatically inputting. I file jointly and for whatever the reason turbotax is entering the same AGI for both my wife and I even though the help on this subject said the spouse should be 0. I have trying filling with my wife AGI at 0 and the correct AGI for me and switch them both and had them both set the same correct AGI and it fail now 3 times. The above person is correct I do not want to try again and get locked out if it fails 5 times. I know our pin is correct been using the same pin for 15 yrs now since I first began using turbotax to file our taxes electronically.
Is there any way to reset this and make the IRS think this is the first time filing a return. Need better advise other than not sure why it works some times and does not work other times.
