I gave a one-time workshop for a company for pay, but didn't receive a 1099-MISC because they are international. How do I best file the income?
Hello,
I am full time employed, but once-in-a-while do speaking engagements outside of my main job. I know how to report honoraria, but in this case I was asked to give a workshop for which I received more money than just an honorarium (and above the $600 limit for 1099 forms). The company for which I did the workshop is is internationally-based and so did not send me a 1099 tax form, such as the 1099-MISC. How do I best report the income? As self-employment, I assume. But is there something special to do without a 1099 form? Thanks!
