Here's what I did WRONG: I logged into my IRS account to see how much I was given in March 2021. It showed $1400 so that is what I entered in TurboTax.
What I should have done is checked my direct deposits. IRS account only showed my HALF of the $2800, my husband would have to log into his IRS account to see his $1400 ($1400 x 2 = $2800).
I went back to my deposits in my checking account and sure enough, we did receive $2800 in March 2021, so the IRS letter was correct that we had already received the stimulus money.
My mistake, not the IRS!
