It sounds like you are trying to enter amounts directly on form 3800. You need to enter these in the program itself and not on the form. To enter;
- Go to the Business tab of your program
- Go to less common Business Situations
- Business Credits>general Business credits
- Select learn more and the first thing that is mentioned is research activities (Form 6765)
- It's all there.
