TurboTax not importing 1099s from E*Trade
I receive the message "This import was unsuccessful. Select Skip import and we'll help you enter it manually...".
I don't want to enter it manually, I paid money for TurboTax Premier to do just the opposite, integrate with my brokerage accounts.
Note that this has not been acknowledged by any of the TurboTax replies as a BUG, which it is.
I already know what TurboTax "Experts" are going to say:
- First, check that this brokerage is a partner, which E*Trade is.
- Second, make sure the third party is allowing this, which E*Trade is, again.
- Third, state that "From time to time the broker's format is not compatible with TurboTax" and that there is a "summary option one ca fill out".
This is unacceptable, it is ~20 days from Tax Day and I do not want to manually enter in my information as there are many 1099 forms and I paid for an integration so all of these fields are prefilled. I am perplexed that the integration with E*Trade (a Morgan Stanley owned company) is not working this close to tax day.
Please provide a solution that doesn't involve manual entry, that is the only response I am looking for on this thread.
