Your argument should be that the financial agent filed the forms so many years after the debt that it should not be part of the current tax return. Try to tie your information with an identifiable event that would have occurred several years ago. You may even contact the financial agent for an explanation of sending the forms so many years after the event. They might be willing to change/correct it but they don't always have the complete understanding of events or their reporting responsibility in my experience.
