No, you’re not required to claim your child as a dependent.
However, you should be aware that if you can claim your daughter according to the dependency rules, she’ll have to check the box next to "Someone else can claim me as a dependent on their tax return" when she files her own tax return.
See what’s going on there? The IRS is concerned with whether someone can claim your child, not whether they actually do.
