Get your taxes done using TurboTax

I found this threat while googling the same issue as the OP. @KrisD15 while I appreciate your advice on how to check for duplication on form 1040, this leads to the Federal summary only which is not duplicated. However, when I click on "CA Tax Summary", the amount is being duplicated. That's because the question OP (and I) were asked to answer is located in the State section.

It seems that the following question has to be answered as "0":

After which the following summary populates without duplication, labelling amounts previously entered in the Federal income section via form 1099G as "unemployment income"

All previous references elsewhere in the software are to "unemployment income OR PFL" ; however, in the State section, the addition of the PFL specific question in the previous screenshot creates confusion that leads to duplication. There is no way to edit the "unemployment income exclusion" section, which feeds from forms 1099G.
