No. Returns filed by mail cannot use e-file for an amended return. You should expect your amended return to be rejected if you try to send it through e-file according to the IRS Topic 308-Amended Returns.
- Only tax year 2019 and 2020 (and 2021) Forms 1040 and 1040-SR returns that were originally e-filed can be amended electronically.
