To remove a dependent from your return go to:
- Personal Info (My Info)
- Your information will immediately appear.
- Scroll down to your listing of children
- Use the Trash Can on the right to delete that record.
It is important to ensure that the people you list as dependents are accurate. The IRS rejected e-filed returns that contain incorrect, mismatched, or already-filed Social Security numbers, birthdates, or names.
