Get your taxes done using TurboTax
Form 8915-F is used to report a disaster-related retirement distribution, and any repayments of those funds. It also allows you to spread the taxable portion of the distribution over three years, if needed, and reports prior-year distribution amounts to be taxed in 2021. Form 8915-F replaces Form 8915-E.
Form 8915-F will be available on 3/24/2022.
In TurboTax follow the steps below once the form is available:
With your federal return open:
- Type 1099-R in the search box, then Jump to 1099-R
- On the next screen, select No if you did not receive a 1099-R in 2021
- Select Yes to Have you ever taken a disaster distribution before 2021?
- On the next screen, select Yes, I took a disaster distribution between 2017 and 2020.
