The problem I have is, claiming child tax credits or ever receiving any for my daughter < for me raising her and she lives with me.
I got divorced a couple of years ago and went to claim her for the credit. It came back that she has already been claimed for the credit by someone else. My ex-wife had claimed her without me knowing it. I am not sure what to do and how to stop all from her claiming my daughter on her taxes, she doesn't help out with my daughter or give support to her,
She did finally say she was recieving my daughter's monthly child credit each month last year. $300 month.
any suggestions on what steps to take to stop all?
