Thank you for responses! After pouring over the prompts again I realized I missed an "or" because I was too focused on the bolded statements. The Part-Time for South Carolina prompts: Enter the following items that you earned in South Carolina or while you were a resident of South Carolina. (I missed the or which I have underlined). Per that, I am able to enter the entire year covering both resident and earned income. Thanks!
