Get your taxes done using TurboTax

I just spent 6.5 hours on the phone with TurboTax after I was unable to get a 2nd download for TurboTax Deluxe.  The upshot was that the first person who utilizes the software must download must enter whether it will be for Mac of PC.  Then ALL REMAINING DOWNLOADS MUST ALSO BE USED FOR THE SAME machine type!  My son downloaded for his MAC, then I wasn't able to download for my PC.  This is a BIG change that no one appears to know about.  I was advised I could purchase another TurboTax product or purchase another computer.  From 5 users to 3, then not able to use on multiple machines?  I haven't found this addressed online.  Would LOVE your input!

The TurboTax license agreement states that you can install TurboTax on up to 5 computers that you own and does not specify the OS type.    These agents need more training on how to push the download for the other platform to your account.  All that they should need is to be able to verify that the TurboTax download was purchased.  The CD contains both platforms and the download is the same, but you need to ask for a download for the other platform.  The agents should know this but unfortunately phone agents are seasonal employees and come and go so each year has a lot of new agents with various knowledge.
