This is like a trick into buying something you don't want too. Initially, I was thinking of paying the $25 State filing out of generosity as I didn't efiling with TT in the past. Now I am not going to do it either.
You can efiling your California Tax Return for free but with little additional work . You save $25! This how you do it. First, use TT to run your California State Return and print a hard copy. Then go to Franchise Tax Board and create an account and do your tax return online. Use the same forms and data that were generated by TT and you are done!
