It is a valid request from Intuit. It's to further protect your security. You'll need the Intuit TurboTax account and password to file your taxes electronically. This is separate fro account ID and password through Schwab. To import your Schwab account information, like 1099's, you'll need to allow TurboTax 3rd party access to your Schwab account. In Schwab's website you should also have granted 3rd party access as well. This you'll find in their security page.
