Get your taxes done using TurboTax
Thank you for the quick reply, but I did not enter the insurance premiums under self-employment income and expenses. I did check "I personally paid..." and entered my premiums in that dialog.
I looked in the Forms and Worksheets view to make sure I hadn't done anything to inadvertently cause a Schedule C to be generated. There isn't one.
When I try to file it takes me to a screen that says
To accurately complete your taxes, you need to upgrade to TurboTax Self-Employed
Why do I need to upgrade?
Your tax complexity requires an upgrade.
TurboTax Premier does not cover this situation
and tries to shake me down for an extra $30, which it so generously offers to deduct from my refund. I have no idea what "situation" it is referring to. I'd pay it just to have the whole thing over and done with, but I don't feel like investing the time to go through another step-by-step interview.
