Perhaps. If the company that paid you considered you to be an independent contractor, then arguably you could be a self-employed individual. In that case, your office expenses, such as rent, utilities, would be deductible on a Schedule C, Profit or Loss From Business. Sometimes, companies will issue a 1099 NEC (Non-Employee Compensation) and the tax treatment of receiving a 1099 NEC would be the same, in your case, as if you had received a 1099 Misc.
