Get your taxes done using TurboTax
If I understand correctly. You received a 1099-R for a retirement distribution, and part of that money was used to fund an HSA account.
You can post the 1099-R, but need help to post the HSA information from the W-2.
To post the HSA information:
- Go to Deductions & Credits
- Scroll down and select Medical
- Select HSA, MSA Contributions from the list
- Tell us about the health-related accounts you had in 2021
- Select Health Savings Account = Continue
- Did you use your Health Savings Account (HSA) to pay for anything in 2021? = No
- Did you inherit this HSA? = No
- Did you put money into an HSA in 2021? = Yes
- Continue the interview
In some cases, you will have to go through the entire 1099-SA interview to get to the contribution questions.
