The 4th installment of estimated taxes for 2021 was due on January 17, 2022 while the first installment of estimated taxes for 2022 will only be due on April 18, 2022.
If you made the Q4/2021 payment of estimated taxes in January 2022, you could use it on your 2021 tax return even if you mistakenly marked it for tax year 2022.
