Tried to file just federal but it was rejected with code IND-032-04. agi is correct pin is correct. this return is married joint but one spouse passed away prior to filing. Could that cause the problem. also then tried to file both federal and new york state together , but then was prompted for deceased id info, which was not asked for for federal. the deceased can not sign. the actual prepeared returns do say survivng spouse.
Must I resort to mail. And what happens with nys since they require electronic filing?
