Can I pay what I owe to the IRS the day after the due date if the selected payment option doesn't have funds?

I don't remember what direct deposit payment I've use to pay what I owe and I'm afraid that the one used has insufficient funds. Should I wait until the next day to see if they take it automatically today or just wait?
