Get your taxes done using TurboTax
This is a little off the subject but Schwab will combine all the broker accounts under one login but you have to request that through your broker. Then you can see everything at a glance without having to sign in under multiple User ID's.
However, if it's set up that way, when importing from Schwab to Turbo Tax, it will show all those accounts for download. Then you have to check which ones you want downloaded.
You might be right about Turbo Tax executing that command.
The other thing I noticed is that I had 2 1099-INT that downloaded with only $1 of interest. Turbo Tax downloaded a blank 1099-INT. I didn't catch it until I ran the error check showing I needed an amount for the blank 1099 INT. That's when I caught this problem. I'm assuming that happened in that there's no 1099 Filing requirement for interest under $10. But Schwab sent us a 1099-INT anyway and I downloaded it.
The entire process has been screwy and frustrating - then to have the "unable to logon- try again later" that people are experiencing (discussed on another post), makes me wonder, what the heck is going on with Schwab and or Turbo Tax. Something that should take me maybe 15 minutes to download and double check the entries has taken me way too long.
