I had this same problem again in 2021. I went to the irs website and requested a ID PIN. Make an account Me ID using state ID. It scans your photo and your face. And then gives you the 6 digit number. Add it to the signature area of you tax form. It is listed under other tax situations in TurboTax. And my e-file was accepted.
