Can elaborate more if helps, I'm divorced, recommended to file married filing separately, no communication with spouse anymore, do I file standard or itemized deductions?

It says we are both required to file the same kind of deduction, otherwise we will be fined, but I have no way of knowing which way he is filing, and vice versa.  I'm assuming he'll do standard.  Do I have to option to file differently or maybe some other option to help?
