If Form 1116 is not required for your tax situation, follow these steps to claim the foreign tax credit:
- With your federal return open, go to Deductions & Credits, then click Show more next to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid
- Click on Start or Revisit next to Foreign Tax Credit
