@jimr63 I did nothing with the form. I just started a business and had negative income and that's why I was receiving the need for the form, when I went back in earlier to file, it didn't ask me to fill out the form or anything. I did my review of state taxes, it asked how I wanted to file, and it filed. (sorry if that doesn't help or answer your question).

I am a MD resident - I have rental income so I am sure I need the form. Completed my taxes three weeks ago but can't file because of this issue. Last I heard this issue was to be fixed today Feb-10 but just tried to file and continue to get the same error message - when will this be fixed?

Krishna04,
You don't delete your State. Instead go back to the filing page and select "File by Mail". The options WILL allow you to save your State return for later and file your federal return by e-file immediately.

No, don't delete anything. TT does give you the option of separating your returns. You must go to the filing page and select "File by Mail". You aren't actually filing by mail. This is just the section that lets you separate the files with the option to file by mail or e-file. It's there...trust me.

I'm in the same boat, but I found a way to separate my taxes in TT. You must go to the filing page and select "File by Mail". You are not actually filing by mail; this is just the menu that allows you to separate your returns and file your federal by e-file. Trust me, it's there.

The 8582 issue is fixed. I filed federal and MS state earlier today. Now the only problem is that you can't print out the MD return forms, only the federal form. Next year, I may go to H&R Block.
