Dependent getting a SSA1099
My son 17 years old does not work and still full time in high school, because I'm 67 years old, still working and now collecting social security benefits, he is entitle to collect benefits until he is 18, he received a check every month in 2021 and we want this money for his college, I my self got a SSA1099 with my SS # and also my son got a SSA1099 with his SS #. My question is, do I have to claim his money in my return ? I file joint return with my spouse and my son. Can you advise?
Sincerely.
