Get your taxes done using TurboTax
Pretty frustrating since I already paid for the MD e-file, I couldn't delete my MD return and then file just my federal.
I was able to workaround this by choosing to file my MD return by mail, then finally got the option to CHANGE my state filing method and choose I'm not ready to file. Then save. I had to fumble around with the settings for the file by Mail option to get here.
This article is similar workaround but not totally accurate since it takes a bit of menu hopping to get to the Change option.
Can I file my federal taxes now and skip my state for later? (intuit.com)
The bug is definitely on TT's side, there's a 0 in one of the 8582 form fields that is no doubt throwing the filing off. I'll check back every week or so and try to file my MD return but I was at least able to file my Federal.
Also earlier suggestion to go to Forms view only works for TT Desktop app, not Turbotax Online.
Best method if you didn't pay for State e-file yet is to file Federal, then manually input your State directly into the MD site and save yourself $30 while you are at it.
